Strong run nets season high 4th Place Finish

Mazda always shows up to the race track ready to battle with the best... and all Mazda teams refuse to give up.

At Mosport International Raceway, BK Motorsports had some great Mazda moments as they continued the battle against Porsche and Acura in the American Le Mans Series LMP 2 category....leading the two hour-forty-five minute race for a time... BK ultimately brought home a fourth place finish. It was the teams best finish of the season and for the new Mazda MZR-R engine.

"It was just a great day with terrific pit work," commented a smiling Bob Bach, Team Owner of BK Motorsports. A solid strategy, great drives by Ben and Jamie, and some good old fashioned racing luck..., we could not be happier for the opportunity to put Mazda and KUMHO up front,"

Jamie Bach took the fist stint and carried the car safely through the first half of the race. Battling a ton of traffic while missing a couple of incidents around the circuit. Jamie did a great job of taking care of the car and at the half way point turned over the wheel to teammate Ben Devlin who also put in an outstanding drive.

"I just wanted to get through the early laps and keep the car clean," said Bach after the race. "We knew the car, tires, and engine would be strong from our earlier testing. We were just hoping for a good outing and a solid finish."

"Ben drove great in the later stages of the race," added Jamie. "We are just happy for everyone who has worked so hard....Mazda, AER, KUMHO, and all the members of this team...what a cool day."

Devlin raced with all the front runners and in great Mazda form, did not back down from anyone. Tracking down the Lola Acura of Luis Diaz, then the Porsche Spyder of Guy Smith and one after another he moved up to eventually take the lead.

A late pit stop for a last dose of fuel and a new set of KUMHO ECSTAs sent Ben off for the final battle holding off heavy pressure from the the DYSON Porsche of Guy Smith. The result was a solid fourth place finish. a season for the BK Motorsports/Mazda effort.

"What a great day for this team and all the partners," said a very happy Devlin getting out of the car. "We certainly had some heavy pressure...but we held them off. Mazda, Lola, AER, and KUMHO have come together to give Jamie and I a great machine to drive and it was flawless today. The car performed so well...and the boys in the pits were awesome....MEGA! We really needed a race like this. Everyone is very happy. I cannot wait to get back in the car at Detroit."
